A small museum like ours can not exist without volunteers like you! You know the definition of volunteers, don't you – those who agree to give their time and talents, without benefit of salary, special recognition, or any expectation that they will be appropriately recognized in any way for their service. However, they will come to know and understand that their gift of service is a gift without price, and a gift that is essential to the fabric of a community. A volunteer's commitment of time is really up to the individual. And don't forget that we need people to serve on committees too, or even to just be a sounding board, making suggestions or giving constructive criticism.
Our docent volunteers give their time as greeters and tour guides. Docents are needed during open hours
Committee members may choose to serve as exhibit creators and researchers, fund-raiser planners, program coordinators, facility assessors, field trip guides; the possibilities are endless. If you are a can-do person, or a great “idea man,” we need you! Committees are a great way to get involved and offer your personal strengths and connections to the museum.
Artifacts must be examined and recorded. Computers must be synchronized and protected. Data must be logged and entered. Stories must be heard and preserved. Articles must be written and edited. Exhibits must be designed and carried out. The list goes on and on, and all of them take the time and dedication of a volunteer.
If you have even a smidgen of time and a real desire to help, we can use you! Call us today to discuss how you can help the museum and in turn how the museum can enrich your life!
